Count down to Spring Day

Spring is a season of new beginnings.
After Summer, it’s my second favourite season.
The days are getting longer and I have finally said goodbye to my warm fluffy blanket, sheep like pyjamas and faithful hot water bottle!!
There’s only one downfall to spring – the bloody pollen that aggravates my sinuses!! Grrrrr...
But let’s leave the pessimism to another post!!

I came across this poem (my mum will be so proud!!), entitled ‘A little madness in the Spring’ and thought I’d share..

A little madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King,
But God be with the Clown
Who ponders this tremendous scene
This whole experiment of Green
As if it were his own!

I love the first 2 lines!!
My new motto for Spring – A little madness in the Spring, is wholesome even for the King

Let the 8 day countdown to madness begin...

Happy Birthday

This post goes out to my sisters, on their 27th birthday.
May your lives always be in abundance of laughter, love and blissful memories.
I love you both, always.
With love, hugs and kisses

My first blog :)))

Firsts are always memorable.
The first step you took (which most of us don't remember!!), the first word you said, the first boy you crushed on and the first designer bag you bought.

With that in mind, I had me thinking of what my first blog posting should be.
And after much thought (ok, I lied, just a few minutes), I decided to keep it simple and write a short intro to me and what I hope for my blog to be.

So, here begins my first blog post...

I'm one of three daughters (note to parents - daughters are considered blessings), born and raised in Durban.
Growing up with two older sisters has been a crazy ride.
We fight, we make up, we laugh, we play, we shop.

As a child, and now, I always loved food.
Toss me a Quarter Pounder and watch me smile!!

As I grew up, I began noticing clothes and fashion. And that has become another one of my loves.
A beautiful dress, a gorgeous pair of heels, perfect hair and stick of lip gloss can transform any gloomy day.

I moved to Johannesburg when I was 21 and that's when it all began...
Johannesburg, for me, is the fashion capital of South Africa.
And that's why I loved living there.
High end fashion stores, beautifully big shopping centres, an active and alive nightlife..so different to calm and chilled out Durbs.

Sadly, this Jozi love affair was short lived.
I had to say a very sad goodbye after just two years.
Duty (work) called and I moved back to Durban.

So here I am, one Friday afternoon browsing the internet and I stumble across a fashion blog.
Just looking at the blog made me happy.
Killer heels, leopard print, long flowing dresses, stacked bangles, blingy jewellery (I'm smiling just thinking about it!!)

And that's when I thought, and was encouraged, to do something that I  love.
To write and post about fashion, food, sunshine and any other thing that makes me smile.

Here's to my blog!!
May reading it make you as happy as writing it makes me :)))

With love,
S
